Boost Your Energy and Confidence to Attract Your Dream Clients

You’ve got a full schedule and a hundred ideas for your business, but you don’t have the energy to keep up with it all.

As an ambitious and driven business owner, you’ve got a lot on your plate! Your body however might not have the energy it needs for you to tackle everything on your to-do list.

Even though you know you’re incredible, smart, and skilled, you might also struggle with how you look in the mirror. You’ve tried diets, exercise, and what feels like every solution possible, but they never stuck or made you feel worse.

You’re not sure why you have no energy or why you don’t like what you see in the mirror. What are the solutions to get you out of this rut?

This week, we are thrilled to feature Melissa Hetrick. Our CEO Marta Sauret Greca had the pleasure of sitting down with her and discussing the main factors that affect our health, and how you can take action to become the best version of yourself.

Meet Melissa

Melissa Hetrick is a clinical pharmacist with 21 years of experience. She always wanted to be a pharmacist because of her passion to help others. Watching patients come in with a variety of illnesses, and dealing with her own health struggles, strengthened her desire to create a bigger impact in healthcare.

“I want to help people continue to grow and provide you with life hacks, tips, and simple changes to get the best version of yourself,” she said.

Melissa learned about the power of nutrition while she and her husband were struggling with infertility. After years of treatments such as IVF and injections, Melissa met a doctor who emphasized the importance of nutrition and how it greatly affects our overall health. This doctor helped modify her diet to support and strengthen the results of her other treatments.

“It was that realization that a lot of our illnesses can be alleviated with nutrition,” she said. “There are conditions we absolutely need modern medicine for. But there are things that can help us feel better instead of medications that do more harm than good.”

Why Do You Feel Unhealthy?

You’ll be surprised to learn that the main two reasons you feel exhausted, sluggish, and unlike yourself aren’t necessarily in your control. Melissa breaks them down for us below.

Reason #1: Poor Nutrition Quality

In America, 50% of what we eat are processed foods. Though you may have access to local farms with fresh produce, most of our food travels across the country. This means it takes longer to get to you and loses nutritional value in transit. As a result, it requires you to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables to get the nutrition you need.

Reason #2: Environmental Toxins

Pollution not only grows every day, but it’s unavoidable. Toxins find their way into water, while our large carbon footprint worsens our air quality. Disposing of medication down a drain or in a landfill has environmental consequences. These factors are largely out of an individual’s control, but they contribute to our health and wellness.

What You Can Do to Feel Better in Your Skin

Though these elements contribute to us feeling unwell, and we can’t change them easily, there are solutions we can utilize on an individual level! It’s up to us to take charge of our health and incorporate lifestyle changes that will keep us healthy, energized, and confident.

Solution #1: Eat Whole Foods

Whole foods add a significant boost to your diet. They’re higher in nutrients, minerals, and vitamins which aren’t found in processed foods, which means you’re getting the sustenance your body needs to fuel it rather than filling it with, well, filler! Whole foods also lower the risk of illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes.

Since much of the nutritional value of store-bought foods are lost by the time they reach us, it’s important to add as much as you can into your diet.

Solution #2: Grow a Garden

If you don’t live close to a farmer’s market or a local farm, or can’t make the trip every week, the next best way to add more value to your diet is to grow your own food!

Having a garden of fruits and vegetables available in your backyard means you’re getting the food when it’s freshest and not losing any of the nutritional value.

If you aren’t able to garden in your backyard (or you don’t have a yard), Melissa’s company has a solution: the Garden Tower. It allows you to grow produce indoors or on a deck, giving you fresh food to nourish your body.

“Only your hands are touching it, and you’re reducing pesticides and herbicides on it,” Melissa said. “Plus the kids love it!”

Solution #3: Practice Mindfulness

Putting intention behind every choice you make allows you to live a healthier life. Should you stay up late and watch that TV show with a glass of wine? Maybe you’ll enjoy it in the moment, but you’ll likely wake up feeling worse.

No one is perfect, and sometimes we make exceptions, but having a baseline helps us create healthy lifestyle changes. Making sure you’re getting seven to eight hours of sleep, staying hydrated, and exercising are all ways that allow you to prioritize your physical and mental health.

It’s also important to schedule time that’s strictly for you.

“I have an alarm on my phone every morning that says ‘Yoga or Meditation. This is non-negotiable,’” Melissa said. “It’s not selfish to take care of yourself first. It’s something we need to do.”

Setting time aside, away from screens, benefits your entire family. When you feel good, you’re able to be the best version of yourself for your partner, kids, friends, and family. It’s a win for everyone!
